This is a new Roku remote. I mistakenly purchased this version instead of the 1st edition. When I was looking to upgrade. The 1st edition has an earphone jack but the latest doesn't. Here are the upgrades the 2nd edition has. The 2nd edition has a larger battery capacity, with a lifespan of three months per charge & dedicated Guide and Quick Launch buttons. Also, has backlit buttons, making it easier to see in low light, while the 1st edition does not.
