This exquisite ceramic bowl showcases a stunning blue and orange floral designs and scalloped edges. These patterns are hand painted and the style is known as Imari ware, traditional to Japan. The name "Imari" comes from the port of Imari, from which this porcelain was shipped to the West starting in the 17th century. This piece dates back the mid-19th century during the Meiji period when these exports reached their peak.

In superb pre-owned condition, patterns preserved pristinely, there is just a small unnoticeable chip by the rim as pictured.
