The flowers grow on long, well-branched stems that are outstanding for cutting. Plant in annual borders or containers, or use as filler plants between perennials. Grow in full sun and moist but well-drained soil. Occasional deadheading will keep the flowers coming all summer long and into fall.
Sow cosmos seeds in early spring directly into the soil where you want them to grow, or into small pots or modules filled with complimentary-draining seed compost. If growing in pots, pot on seedlings when they are large enough to handle. Plant out in late April, May or early June after the danger of frost has passed.
