Red plastic base does have a split/crack in it but still works and holds the top up, could/can be repaired for a more stable stance, see pics.
Tested and does work as it should. Overall, the item is in wonderful shape for its age and seems to be well cared for over the years, outstanding for home decor, props, staging, & collecting. Rare hard to find vintage toy.
